About the position
Working within the Communications and Brand team, this key role is responsible for driving the design, development, and implementation of a modern, user-centric website that meets the needs of both the organisation and our community.
You’ll be the subject matter expert for all things web, leveraging your skills in website development, accessibility, user experience, and project delivery. With a strong focus on collaboration and stakeholder engagement, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the City's digital presence. About you
We are seeking an experienced Website Project Manager to oversee the implementation of a new Content Management System (CMS) and manage the vendor relationship to ensure a smooth and successful transition.
This role will also be responsible for maintaining and auditing the existing website, updating content in preparation for the new site, and leading the delivery of the new website, including content development and user experience (UX) enhancements.
To excel in this role, you will bring proven experience leading a website or CMS implementation project within a large, complex organisation. As a subject matter expert in web development, you will have a deep understanding of user experience and the interdependencies necessary to ensure a new website effectively meets both organisational and community needs. Success in this role requires a strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer outcomes, the agility to adapt to changing environments and the ability to influence and build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
As Project Manager you will analyse and optimise the current City website to identify and deliver system functionality, useability and accessibility improvements.

Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in website project management, CMS implementation, and vendor management.
- Advanced skills and knowledge in relation to website design and development including accessibility and usability.
- Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations.
- Advanced leadership skills.
- Excellent communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced web writing and copy-editing skills, with the ability to optimise website content to align with brand voice, SEO best practices and accessibility standards.
- Ability to write for the web to ensure all online content is clear, concise and tailored for digital audiences.
- Advanced research and analysis skills, negotiation and influencing and organisational skills.
- Advanced skills in the efficient utilisation of information systems and technology.
- Strong understanding of content strategy, website auditing, and UX best practices.
- Advanced knowledge of project management, resource planning and budget management.
- Knowledge of industry principles and best practice in contemporary website design, development and management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of the practical application of WHS measures in the workplace, including hazard identification in an office environment.
Key Competencies and Qualifications
- Qualifications in a related field, such as Information Technology or Communications
- Project Management certification or relevant industry experience.
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex website projects.
- Relevant experience in a similar role within a large and complex organisation.
