About the Opportunity

  • Opportunity to work with the Head of Department and Management team to develop Community Health Occupational Therapy services in the Macarthur area
  • Paediatric Clinical Therapy
  • Working with community groups and across different organisations
  • Working with Paediatric clients presenting with a large variety of needs
  • Part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team
  • Access to regular supervision and team training Primarily based at Rosemeadow and Waranwarin Community Health Centres with some travel across SWSLHD District Wide Sites required

What You'll be Doing
The senior occupational therapist provides clinical governance, leadership and expertise within occupational therapy services including the provision of safe, timely, compassionate and high quality person-centered care.

Where You'll Be Working
SWSLHD Primary & Community Health provides a comprehensive range of community-based services designed to improve and maintain the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities across South Western Sydney.

These services include prevention, early intervention, assessment, acute and post-acute treatment, health maintenance, and continuing care. The team supports diverse populations, offering specialised programs for children, young people, older adults, and at-risk communities.

With over 800 dedicated staff, including Aboriginal Health Workers, nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals, the service ensures high-quality care close to where people live.

The focus on community health and wellbeing makes SWSLHD Primary & Community Health an ideal place to work, providing opportunities for professional growth and the chance to make a meaningful impact on the community.

How to Apply

  1. Recognised Degree in Occupational Therapy or other qualification deemed appropriate by the employer, with registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Demonstrated advanced clinical skills and significant experience in the provision of occupational therapy services within a varied paediatric caseload including working with children and their families with a range of clinical conditions and complex social backgrounds.
  3. Demonstrated experience in the identification of evidence based practice and/or development of treatment protocols
  4. Demonstrated experience participating in the planning, implementation and evaluation of local service delivery incorporating the quality improvement process.
  5. Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills
  6. Demonstrated experience in the provision of clinical supervision, mentoring of staff and/or students
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy in a range of programs
  8. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
