Are you concerned about the large number of Australians who are impacted by unwanted calls and messages? Do you want to help stop scammers targeting Australians and be a part of a team that delivers meaningful outcomes? We are looking to fill multiple roles in our Investigations and Enforcement team to build our investigative capability to successfully enforce existing and proposed new anti-scam, spam and telemarketing laws.

EL1 officers are a key cohort at the ACMA. They supervise staff, undertake complex regulatory work and support Managers and Executive Managers to deliver on strategic and operational priorities.

In these roles you lead or oversee a variety of tasks, including:

  • Selecting cases for investigation, running investigations and gathering information from regulated entities (including by using compulsory information-gathering powers).
  • Analysing evidence obtained during investigations and forming a view about whether there has been a contravention of the law.
  • Assessing enforcement options and providing advice on the most appropriate action to take.
  • Engaging with key stakeholders in the regulation of unsolicited communications, scams and mobile number fraud, including other regulators and government departments.

To be eligible for employment with ACMA, applicants must be an Australian citizen.

Successful candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Baseline level security clearance or hold a current security clearance of an appropriate level. Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA).
