About the Role

Elamine Lawyers is seeking a skilled and motivated Junior Solicitor with a minimum of 2 years post-admission experience (PAE) in Construction Law and Commercial Litigation to join our team on a contract basis. Based in Preston, this role offers the opportunity to work across complex and diverse matters while contributing to a high-performing legal team in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and assist with matters involving construction disputes, contractual claims, SOPA adjudications, and VCAT proceedings.

Act in commercial litigation matters including debt recovery, contractual disputes, and interlocutory applications.

Conduct legal research and provide concise, strategic advice.

Draft pleadings, submissions, correspondence, and court documents.

Attend court and tribunal appearances where appropriate.

Maintain and develop client relationships, ensuring high-quality service delivery.

Stay up-to-date with developments in construction law, commercial litigation, and related practice areas.

About You

We are seeking a candidate who brings strong technical skills, initiative, and a commercial mindset. The successful applicant will have:

A current practising certificate in Victoria.

Minimum 2 years post-admission experience in Construction Law and Commercial Litigation.

Strong drafting and advocacy skills.

A practical, problem-solving approach and sound judgment.

Excellent communication and client relationship skills.

Ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously when required.
