Ravensworth Feedlot is a recently expanded 45,000 head feedlot, located in the southern Riverina. Cattle that exit from this facility support premium beef branded throughout Australia. Due to a recent expansion, there is an opportunity to join a growing team that are focused on getting industry leading animal health results for our customers.

The Role

- Be part of a team that checks 45,000 cattle daily to monitor the health and well-being of our cattle.

- Using your skills to move cattle within the feedlot, minimising stress and ensuring their safety.

- Ensuring that cattle health, wellbeing, and performance are thoroughly monitored each day in an efficient manner support by a feedlot management team whilst working with world leading veterinarians

- Undertaking reporting and maintaining accurate record keeping using specialist feedlot systems

- Helping to identify maintenance and repairs to pens, fencing, and other facilities to ensure that Ravensworth is a safe environment for both cattle and staff.

- Work with the boarder feedlot team (Milling, Feeding, Maintenance and Administration) to ensure that operations are efficient and continuously improving.

WHAT IS IMPORTANT FROM YOU?

To be successful in this role you will have a keen Interest in working with livestock and growing a career in livestock operations. It will also be favourably considered that you bring

• Experience working with horses and/or livestock, with the ability to apply and learn in a feedlot environment.People without previous feedlot experience are encouraged to apply

• Demonstrated effective verbal communication.

• Ability to work cooperatively with the team to achieve requirements of the tasks and activities required in day-to-day operations.

• Ability to and commitment to demonstrate values in all aspects of daily work that aligned with Ravensworth Feedlot

To be considered for this role you will need to be able to provide at least two horses fit for cattle work in a feedlot environment. Ravensworth Feedlot supports employees with the care of horses the provision of feed for horses in work, farrier services and support with vaccinations.
