What you'll be doing

  • The primary role of the Medical Radiation Scientist within the Radiology Department is to provide high quality Diagnostic Medical Imaging service in accordance with National Registration, professional practices, standards and policies of the Radiology Department specific to Western Sydney Local Health District.
  • The Medical Radiation Scientist will perform various radiological examinations under the guidance of the modality Senior Medical Radiation Scientist.

Essential Requirements

  • License: NSW EPA Radiation Licence IA14
  • Qualification: Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science โ€“ Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent
  • Registration: Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA)


Selection Criteria

  1. Demonstrated experience in general radiography, including but not limited to general and trauma, operating suite, mobile, dental and fluoroscopy
  2. Experience working in a busy hospital environment
  3. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  4. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
  5. Demonstrated ability to solve clinical situations and to develop effective solutions
  6. Able to work a 24/7 roster with call
