The Role
TAFE SA is seeking Senior Procurement Specialists to manage the end-to-end procurement lifecycle (source to contract) for a variety of projects. In this role, you’ll work as part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team while also taking the lead on key initiatives that deliver value and impact across the organisation. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in procurement or relevant transferable skills, coupled with exceptional stakeholder management skills and the ability to effectively engage with various teams.
What You’ll Do:
- Managing the end to end (source to contract) activities of assigned procurement projects to deliver maximum value.
- Manage stakeholders effectively to ensure alignment and support for procurement initiatives.
- Undertaking market research to determine industry conditions, trends, opportunities and competition.
- Apply risk management principles to procurement projects to identify and mitigate risks.
- Maintain quality supplier relationships, assisting existing panel and new suppliers to work with the TAFE SA to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Encouraging best practice sourcing and providing advice to staff on policy, procedures, and procurement process/tools.
- Driving the internal brand of procurement within TAFE SA, working collaboratively with your stakeholders to support outcomes.
What You Bring:
- Demonstrated experience in end-to-end procurement, including tendering, negotiation, and contract management in a complex environment or relevant transferable experience.
- A deep understanding of State Government procurement frameworks, legislation, and governance requirements.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proven ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a high-performing team.
- Relevant or transferable experience in procurement processes including planning, stakeholder communication, negotiation and risk management.

Key Selection Criteria
- High Level interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to consult and liaise collaboratively with stakeholders, respond effectively to the requirements of a diverse client base, identify and analyse conflict and successfully negotiate on complex and sensitive issues to deliver value for money and sound commercial and compliance outcomes.
- Ability to prepare procurement documentation and reports.
- Ability to manage and co-ordinate contract risk management practices.
- Excellent communication and engagement skills, with a proven ability to negotiate and document requirements effectively.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, exercising judgement and initiative.
- Sound working knowledge of government procurement framework, policy and legislation, and tender and contracting procedures.
- Proven ability to schedule and coordinate procurement projects and programs including the ability to develop acquisition plans, tender packages, specifications and evaluation criteria within legislative guidelines with limited direction.

Special Conditions
The successful applicants are required to demonstrate having a valid DHS Working With Children Check (WWCC) prior to being employed. Applicants who do not hold a WWCC will need to apply at Department of Human Services (DHS).

- Intra/interstate travel and overnight absences may be required.
- Incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Development Program.
- Eligibility to work in Australia.
