We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to support our growing customer base in the NSW region this role will suit someone based in Sydney or the wider NSW region. The Role:
This role is based in Sydney or the wider NSW region and involves servicing customers throughout the entire state. The successful candidate must be comfortable with regular travel, including 1-2 overnight stays per week, depending on service schedules. Some weeks will require Monday-Friday travel, returning home for the weekend before heading out for another full week. Additionally, this role may involve the occasional visit to Aurora’s Head Office in New Zealand for training and team meetings.
You will be supporting installations, service work, and project execution. Flexibility and a willingness to travel are essential, ensuring customers receive high-quality support and seamless service delivery across Aurora’s expanding network in NSW.
As a highly mechanically minded professional you will be adept at trouble shooting, diagnostics and servicing of older industrial systems as well as knowledgeable and interested in automated equipment.
You will be tasked with performing scheduled servicing and breakdown support for packaging equipment, trouble shooting and repairing mechanical, electrical and automation related faults.
Whilst being onsite you will be a natural communicator and have the ability to spot opportunities for opportunities for new sales for Aurora products, consumables and services. Your insights from clients being the “eyes on the ground” are critical for the sales team to optimise revenue from each client, this is an equally important part of the role alongside your technical duties as the focus is to significantly grow clients in the region.
Ideally, we are seeking candidates from the packaging industry or related experience with similar automated equipment/mechatronics. You will have experience working in a field service-based role or come from a mechanical and electrical background but ready to move from a workshop-based role to a field based role. we are open to expressions of interest from all levels of experience.
Key Tasks & Deliverables:
- Perform in-site servicing, repairs, preventative maintenance and testing of industrial packaging equipment.
- Trouble shoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical and automation related faults.
- Manage installations and commissioning of a range of packaging machinery
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and customer callouts, including occasional afterhours support when required.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships acting as a trusted advisor for process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety, quality and operation standard.
- Identify opportunities for new equipment, consumables and service sales to support business growth.
