City of Parramatta have an exciting opportunity for a Project Officer to join the City Strategy team and work to create a socially sustainable, equitable, and resilient Parramatta. This team sits within the City Strategic Planning business unit and has a 'people first' focus, working to make City of Parramatta more equitable and resilient.
About the role
As the Project Officer, you will support or lead the inception and delivery of priority projects within the City Strategy Team that contribute to the vision for the future of Parramatta.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Council's strategies relating to social sustainability, community infrastructure, and affordable housing. This includes supporting the delivery of Council's Social Sustainability Strategy 2024-2033 and the update of the Community Infrastructure Strategy 2020.
- Leading and supporting social planning and policy projects involving research, analysis, engagement, and report writing.
- Preparing strategic advice and supporting advocacy.
- Driving social outcomes using Census data, community engagement findings, and other data inputs.
- Reviewing and providing advice on the social impact of new developments and precincts.
- Assisting with the management of strategic partnerships with NSW Government Departments.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Tertiary qualification in social science, public policy, urban planning, strategy, project management, or a related field.
- Experience in social policy, social/community planning or similar, including experience in research, analysis, and communication of social data and strategic priorities.
- Demonstrated skills in written communication for diverse audiences, including the development of strategic documents.
- Highly developed planning, organisation and time management skills, including the ability to meet tight deadlines and balance competing priorities.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Exceptional ability to communicate, negotiate, build relationships and influence others.
What's on offer
We are offering an attractive remuneration from $101,563 to $111,820 plus 11.5% superannuation.
