Maroondah City Council is currently seeking an experienced dynamic and enthusiastic Youth Development Worker to join our team. If you possess a strong commitment to innovation and a drive to create new and engaging approaches to support the development of young people, we want to hear from you!
Council’s Youth and Children's Services Team is looking for a skilled and dedicated full-time Youth Development Worker. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and delivering a range of programs, services, projects, and events that aim to raise the wellbeing of young people aged 10-25.
We are seeking someone with excellent rapport building, youth participation, and facilitation skills, as well as a strong capacity for innovation. Energy, self-motivation, and a genuine desire to empower and improve the lives of local young people are essential qualities we are looking for.
The successful applicant must have prior experience in the development, implementation, and evaluation of diverse youth programs and initiatives that promote wellbeing. Additionally, applicants must demonstrate a strong value for continuous improvement and the ability to adapt to the ever-changing needs of young people and the community.
Relevant tertiary qualifications and a proven ability to engage and work with young people and the wider community are essential. Knowledge of and commitment to positive psychology practices and the Victorian Youth Sector's Code of Ethical Practice is an advantage.
A commitment to working within a team environment is required, along with flexibility in working hours.

Maroondah City Council was constituted as a new municipality on 15 December 1994. The City of Maroondah is made up of three wards, with each ward represented by three Councillors.
