About the Role
The Business and Innovation Branch works to develop and optimise Council's business opportunities to deliver value in both its strategic and operational activities by investing wisely through sound procurement and contracting practices, by partnering in the delivery of projects, by undertaking commercial analysis and identifying commercial opportunities, through rationalising and delivering strategic property outcomes.
The Coordinator Procurement and Contract Performance will provide leadership and management to the Procurement and Contract Performance and Supply Operations Teams and advice to internal partners in order to effectively manage the performance of Council’s procurement and contracting framework.
· Provide leadership and management to the Procurement and Contract Performance Team and internal partners on the procurement and contract performance management functions;
· Negotiate on behalf of Council to resolve respondent departures from standard contract terms and conditions offered in tenders, obtaining legal advice where necessary;
· Evaluate and provide advice to improve contract performance by suppliers, and effectiveness of internal contract management
· Assess alternate contract design and delivery of goods and services.
· Support the Supply Operations Team in providing continuity of service across all depot locations to a high and consistent standard, with a focus on customer service;
This position is located in Sunshine Coast City Hall, based in the heart of Maroochydore CBD. This state of the art and sustainable building is designed to achieve an innovative and collaborative workspace.
About you
As a professional in Procurement and Contracts, you will have substantial high level experience and a record of achievement in end to end procurement, and related contract lifecycle management and supply/inventory solutions.
You will possess strong leadership skills and experience to confidently and positively lead and empower others, develop and coach team members, and foster a workplace culture consistent with Council’s corporate values.
You will have high level interpersonal and communication skills with particular emphasis in the areas of advocacy, liaison, consultation, building effective relationships and teams, negotiation, conflict resolution and assertiveness with the ability to meet changing organisational needs.
As a requirement of this role, you will have a Bachelor degree in the business, commerce, legal or financial fields, and/or substantial equivalent experience in a medium or large organisation.
