We manage a portfolio of more than 2,000 housing properties throughout Victoria and partner with over 90 co-ops to provide safe, secure, affordable housing to 5,000 co-op members, renters, and the broader community.

CEHL actively promotes the vital role co-operative models can play in changing people’s lives and as an ongoing solution to Victoria’s current housing affordability crisis. We are focused on creating positive housing outcomes for our partner housing co-operatives, co-op members and renters.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join our Strategy and Innovation team to analyse, identify and implement improvements that enhance CEHL’s organisational processes, support innovation projects, and drive service excellence to optimise how we deliver housing and services to co-operatives and renters.

The Business Analyst will undertake in-depth business research and data synthesis and translate complex data into actionable insights for CEHL teams and decision-makers.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Identify, document and analyse CEHL’s core processes, workflows, and systems and work collaboratively with cross-organisational teams to implement streamlined processes that enhance the experience for the co-operatives and renters we serve.
  • Use human-centred design principles and apply service design methodologies to understand co-operative and renter needs and propose innovative solutions that align with CEHL’s mission and strategic objectives.
  • Undertake in-depth business research and data synthesis to inform decision-making and produce strategy packs and reports for CEHL's Executive and Board.
  • Monitor industry trends, emerging best practices and relevant research to inform strategic recommendations, while supporting the development of business cases for new initiatives.
  • Engage internal stakeholders through workshops, focus groups or meetings to capture insights and feedback and build strong relationships with colleagues across the organisation to gather input, share findings and gain trust and buy-in for innovation projects.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate for this role will demonstrate agility in moving across diverse projects, from process re-engineering to service innovation, while maintaining high standards in business analysis and written communication. They will bring exceptional business writing skills with the ability to produce clear, concise, and persuasive strategy documents, reports and briefs and demonstrate an ability to rapidly pivot between projects and shifting priorities and be skilled in translating complex data into actionable insights.

They will align with CEHL's strategy and purpose and bring the following qualifications, skills and attributes to the role:

  • A tertiary qualification in Business, Design, or a related field
  • Substantial experience in applying common management consulting skills, including the ability to apply structured thinking and analytical approaches to problem-solving.
  • Proven experience in process mapping and service design, ideally in a health or community services context.
  • Practical experience with design thinking workshops, ideation sessions, and prototyping tools that drive service and process innovation.
  • Proven experience of managing or supporting innovation projects in a service delivery context.
  • Excellent communication, consultation, stakeholder engagement and presentation skills.
  • Ability to think and operate strategically in a whole-of-organisation context, developing successful working partnerships with internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to rapidly pivot between projects and adapt to shifting priorities in line with CEHL’s dynamic strategic context.
  • Ability to independently manage own workload including multiple complex tasks, competing priorities and stakeholder expectations.
  • Exceptional business writing skills with the ability to produce clear, concise, and persuasive strategy documents, reports and briefs.
  • Experience working within the not-for-profit, social enterprise or community housing sector is desirable.
