About Us
Yiliyapinya is a not-for-profit organisation committed to improving the wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people, and families. Through strengths-based, trauma-informed, and culturally grounded approaches, we create environments that enable children and young people to thrive.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager – Mental Health and Youth Programs to lead the delivery and ongoing development of our Yili program. This is a unique dual-focused leadership role that integrates direct clinical support with strategic program oversight to improve the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people aged 7–18 with undiagnosed or emerging mental health needs.
Please note this role is for individuals who identify as Indigenous.
In this role, you’ll provide holistic support and conduct assessments while also leading program design, implementation, and evaluation. You’ll oversee program planning, monitor outcomes, supervise staff, and ensure our work is aligned with best practice, cultural safety, and community need.
As a mental health leader, you’ll also support the broader Yili team through consultation, coaching, and structured upskilling—building internal capacity to recognise, understand, and respond to developmental and mental health needs in culturally responsive ways.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver trauma-informed, culturally safe clinical services to children and young people.
Lead the design, coordination, and improvement of therapeutic and wellbeing-focused program components.
Supervise and support staff in their clinical and community-based work.
Monitor outcomes and contribute to reporting, evaluation, and strategic decision-making.
Build staff capability through training, coaching, and consultation.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen program delivery and impact.
About You
You identify as Indigenous with a strong cultural connection
You have tertiary qualifications in Youth Mental Health with 5+ years’ experience working with vulnerable young people
You bring demonstrated experience in team and program management and service improvement.
You work well in cross-cultural contexts and are committed to trauma-informed, culturally responsive practice.
You value community collaboration and seek to build sustainable systems that support long-term change.
The above act as selection criteria for this role.
Please send your CV and address the five selection criteria in your cover letter to Rhi Parsons via [email protected]
