A leading national insurance brokerage is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Senior Account Manager to step into a strategic leadership-focused role in its Brisbane office.
In this role, you'll oversee a portfolio of high-value clients while mentoring a team of 6 professionals across varying levels of experience. This opportunity is ideal for a senior insurance professional ready to progress into a leadership position or build further on their current people management experience.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage a key portfolio of mid-market commercial client
- Build strong, enduring relationships with clients in the $50–100M turnover range
- Provide strategic broking advice and deliver exceptional service outcomes
- Coach, mentor, and engage a team including junior and senior broking staff
- Identify opportunities for portfolio growth, client retention, and team development
- Work closely with national leadership to align with business goals
- Participate in business development and contribute to branch strategy
- Lead by example in client meetings, internal training, and process improvement
- Contribute actively to branch and sales meetings and embrace continuous learning
About You
You’re currently a Senior Account Executive Account Manager with deep technical knowledge and a genuine interest in leadership. You may already be managing a small team or be ready to take that next step.
- Broad experience in commercial insurance broking, across mid-market clients
- Strong understanding of diverse industry sectors and insurance solutions
- Demonstrated capability in mentoring or team leadership (formal or informal)
- Tier 1 qualified (essential), with excellent stakeholder and client skills
- Commercially minded with a focus on growth and retention outcomes
- Highly organised and proactive, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Able to commit to 3 days in-office per week as part of a hybrid working model
