We are currently looking for people to fill 2 positions at Castaways on Moreton Island. As our busier catering season starts up we are looking for a cook and also a Housekeeper/All rounder to work at our cafe/store/hotel. We need someone to cook who can prepare simple café style food for our café. We also do catering for groups, some weekends. Training can be provided for both of these roles

Castaways consists of a small licenced store/Café, holiday accommodation and glamping onsite, so duties are varied.

You will be interacting with customers (most of who are on holidays and happy!), so must be energetic, friendly and have a smile on your face! You must be able to lift items, be flexible with a willingness to learn new skills. A RSA or willing to get one is essential. You must be able to work unsupervised and be pro active, as there is always plenty to do.

This is a casual position as our workload fluctuates, but generally 28 to 38hrs per week. We are on a complete sand island 35kms off Brisbane only accessible via a 1.5hr ferry ride from Brisbane, but we have beautiful beaches and water, great fishing and snorkelling.

We can organise your accommodation on the Island if required. You also get meals while working and discounted groceries and meals in our store. Who wouldn’t want to live on this beautiful island!
