We’re seeking an exceptional Algae Technician with experience in microalgae/seaweed cultivation to join our R&D team focused on the development, optimisation and maintenance of a diverse range of small scale algae cultures. This role is based in Noosa with opportunities for rapid career progression for the right candidate. Working with world leading experts in a purpose driven and highly motivated team, you will be provided on the job training that will enable you to become a world leader in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain a collection of microalgae/seaweed cultures, conducting routine inoculation using strict aseptic technique.

Conduct daily husbandry and inoculation of cultures in a controlled environment following strict protocols.

Operate closed-system bioreactors in compliance with internal protocols and specified regulatory standards.

Conduct research projects under the direction of the senior algae technician.

Contribute to the ongoing development and optimisation of the Algae/Seaweed production process.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and continuously optimise production processes.

Maintain precise and accurate records to support data-driven improvements.

Maintain plant and laboratory equipment and adhere to strict cleaning and maintenance protocols.

The position will operate on a rolling roster that includes weekends in a facility that operates 24/7 in a time critical environment.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

A degree in aquaculture, bioprocessing, or related fields or equivalent industry experience.

Experience in algae/seaweed cultivation or aquaculture.

A problem solving, can-do attitude.

Strong communication and reporting skills.
