We are seeking an Employee Relations Specialist – Governance and Compliance, who will play a pivotal part in strengthening internal frameworks and promoting consistent and compliant practices across the business, mitigating risks and creating a proactive approach to reinforce best practice.
In this newly created role, you will provide guidance on employee relations matters and associated risks consistent with contemporary employee relations practices and take an active role in educating, training and fostering continuous improvement practices within our business.
Please note, this is a full time, permanent opportunity, where hybrid working is encouraged.
Your part in our UnitingCare team:
Provide tactical support and advice to the business on moderate to high-risk and moderate to high-complexity industrial relations and employee relations-related risks, practices, and processes (including the interpretation and application of legislation, Modern Awards, the Enterprise Agreement, and employment contracts).
Support the ER Manager in preparing for and engaging in sensitive and complex communications with stakeholders regarding governance and compliance matters.
Provide technical guidance to the broader ER team regarding the enterprise agreement process, including drafting, legislative requirements, and approval by the Fair Work Commission, ensuring a consistent and compliant approach.
Contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of an effective Enterprise Agreement framework.
Partner with key stakeholders to drive ongoing compliance with industrial instruments and industrial relations legislation across the business.
Develop education, training, and guidance for stakeholders on Employee Relations Governance and Compliance-related matters.
What makes a difference for us?
Tertiary qualifications in in Law, Employee Relations or Industrial Relations, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar, ER compliance focused role.
In depth knowledge of employment relations legislation and industrial frameworks
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to communicate using tact and discretion in confidential and sensitive matters.
Proven experience in the interpretation of complex industrial instruments and an understanding of industrial relations legislation and frameworks including enterprise bargaining.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with practical experience in a complex organisation.
