About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Assistant Manager to join the team at the Bundoora Indoor Sports Centre. As the Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of this busy sports and recreation facility, providing critical support to the Centre Manager. This is a casual role with the potential for growth, suited to someone with a passion for the sport and recreation industry and a proven track record of providing excellent customer service and effective team leadership.

What you'll be doing

Assisting the Centre Manager with the overall management and administration of the facility

Assisting in the running of sports competitions

Running sports programs including coaching and umpiring

Providing exceptional customer service and managing customer inquiries and requests

Overseeing the set-up and pack-down of sports courts and equipment

Monitoring and maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the facility

Supporting the implementation of new programs, events and initiatives

Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety and security procedures

What we're looking for

Relevant experience in a similar assistant or deputy management role within the sport, recreation or hospitality sectors

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders

Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively

Experience in staff supervision and the ability to lead, motivate and develop a team

Proficiency in the use of relevant software and technology to support operations

A passion for the sport and recreation industry and a commitment to providing high-quality experiences for customers.

Strong interest in cricket

Current First Aid certification, Working with Children Check and Responsible Serving Alcohol Certificate

Ability to work evenings, weekends and during day
