Overview of the Role:
As a Nurse Specialist – Human Resources within the Western Australian Country Health Service, you will collaborate closely with clinical managers and nursing agencies to effectively manage staffing needs, participate in performance management, and facilitate quality improvement activities. Your expertise will help to foster an efficient and supportive environment for all nursing staff, ensuring high standards of patient care.
This position is located at the Kalgoorlie Health Campus. Kalgoorlie is Australia’s largest Outback city where mining, history and bushland combine, located 595 km east-northeast of Perth.

Country Nursing and Midwifery Incentive Program:
The Country Nursing & Midwifery incentive program is available to new and existing nurses and midwives - across a broad range of patient-facing roles - on fixed term or permanent contracts at eligible locations. Eligible nurses and midwives can receive between $5,000 and $17,000 in support over 12 months. Please refer to the WA Country Health Service - Country Nursing and Midwifery Incentive Program website for eligibility criteria.
Ideal Candidate:
- Registered Nurse eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
- Extensive post-registration management experience
- In-depth knowledge of industrial relations, including Awards/EBA’s and grievance procedures
- Strong understanding of Human Resource and Health Support Services (HSS) processes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including mediation capabilities
- Proficient in personal computer applications and data management
- Committed to ethical practice and accountability
