We currently have an opportunity for a Fitness Instructor to join our team at our Kiama Leisure Centre.
In the role of Fitness Instructor you will:
- Conduct Group fitness and aqua classes in a safe and professional manner
- Present a positive image of Council and the Kiama Leisure Centre
- Commit to ongoing professional development and ensure all qualifications are current
- Attend update courses when required.

- Hourly pay rate from $55.04 which is inclusive of 25% casual loading
(salary is dependent on qualifications, skills and experience) - 11.5 % superannuation.
What you'll need to be successful in the role...
- Completed Certificate III in Fitness – Exercise Instructor (Group Exercise and Aqua)
- A current First Aid Certificate including current CPR
- Registration with Fitness Australia
- A minimum 6 -12 months experience working within the fitness industry, undertaking exercise classes to music
- The ability to plan and conduct group fitness and aqua classes to music
- Appropriate exercise prescription for different types of exercise to music classes
- The ability to adapt to change in the work environment i.e time, ages of participants, number of participants at any time
- To work as a team member with the ability to work unsupervised.
Pre-Employment Checks
This is a child-related position. You will be required to provide Council with your valid and current Working with Children Check (WWCC) number as a condition of your employment. In addition, your employment will be subject to a National Criminal Record Check to determine your suitability for employment.
All employees and other workers must uphold and promote safety and wellbeing for children and young people.
