About the role

Reveal Productions, part of Theatre Safe Australia (TSA), is seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team in our Thornbury, VIC location. As a Machinist for Theatre Drapes Soft Goods, you will play a vital role in the manufacturing and production of high-quality stage curtains, drapes, and other soft goods for the theatre and entertainment industry. This is a full-time position with competitive benefits.

What you'll be doing

Operate industrial sewing machines to assemble and construct a variety of stage drapes, curtains, and other soft goods.

Measure, cut, and prepare fabric and materials according to technical specifications.

Assemble and sew theatre drapes and other soft goods with precision and accuracy.

Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to specifications.

Perform routine maintenance on equipment and report any issues to the supervisor.

Collaborate with the design and production teams to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of projects.

Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to all safety protocols

What we're looking for

Proven experience as a Machinist/Sewer or in a similar role in the textile manufacturing industry.

Proficient in operating industrial sewing machines.

Knowledge of fabric types and properties is a plus.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow technical specifications and instructions

Excellent hand-eye coordination and dexterity

Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines, as well as working collaboratively with the team.

Commitment to quality and safety.

Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials.
