About the Role

We are looking for a highly experienced Financial Accountant to take on the main day-to-day finance role in our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a wide range of financial tasks, including:

Financial Management:

Preparing monthly financial statements

Managing and reporting on cash flow

Preparing BAS and annual accounts for our external accountant

Employee and Compliance Management:

Preparing new employee contracts

Onboarding new employees into our systems

Processing payroll

Managing superannuation, payroll tax and WorkCover

Insurance and Risk Management:

Researching business finance and insurance options

Managing debtor insurance

Finance Operations:

Approving invoices for payment

Reconciling bank accounts

Approving expenses and reconciling credit cards

Managing recharges of sub-leases

Conducting invoice finance monthly reconciliations and audits

Management:

Management of a small finance team of two part-timer finance assistants.

What We're Looking For

Qualifications: An accounting degree or bookkeeping qualification is essential. While CA/CPA certification is not required, it is advantageous.

Experience: We are seeking someone with extensive experience in financial management, preferably in an SME or private company setting. Experience with inventory management or stock control is highly desirable.

Attributes: The ideal candidate will be smart, reliable, and able to hit the ground running. They should be mature-minded with a strong commitment to their role.

Commitment: We are looking for someone who can commit to a full-time role for at least 5 years, ideally 10+.
