Job Summary:

Cavan Agricultural Agencies is seeking an experienced Motor Mechanic to join our team located in Pooraka, South Australia 5095. In this full-time position, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of a variety of automotive and agricultural equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

· Carry out detection and diagnostics on mechanical and electrical systems across a variety of vehicles and machinery, including tractors, ATVs, forklifts, ride-on mowers, and other small-engine equipment.

· Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of engines, hydraulics, cooling systems, brakes and steering mechanisms.

· Dismantle and inspect engine assemblies, transmissions, and related systems to identify worn or defective parts, using service manuals and diagnostic tools where required.

· Undertake repairs and part replacements, then reassemble components to manufacturer specifications, ensuring all work meets safety and performance standards.

· Use diagnostic equipment to test and fine-tune repaired systems, including fuel injection, ignition, and electrical systems, ensuring everything is operating correctly.

· Maintain detailed service records and repair documentation in line with company procedures and customer expectations.

· Adhere to all workplace safety standards, environmental guidelines, and proper workshop handling procedures for tools and materials.

· Respond to off-site service requests and urgent breakdowns, providing timely mechanical support to minimise downtime for clients in the field.

· Support maintenance and repair of agricultural pumps, sprayers and other specialised equipment, applying tailored solutions based on the equipment type and usage.

Skills & Qualifications:

· Minimum of 12 months of relevant work experience

· Formal qualifications in the trade.

· Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills to quickly identify and resolve equipment

· Ability to communicate technical information clearly

· Sound knowledge of safety procedures and the ability to work in a safe manner at all times
