As a Motor Mechanic, your key responsibilities and duties include the following:

Inspect various vehicle systems (engine, transmission, braking, air conditioning, etc.) to identify problems

Interpret complex data from diagnostic software to make accurate assessments and decisions

Use diagnostic equipment to pinpoint issues and determine the necessary repairs

Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections

Integrate various diagnostic systems and software to get a comprehensive view of the vehicle's health, mastering skills in interpreting data from different sources

Communicate technical issues and repair processes clearly and effectively to clients or team members

Provide cost estimates for repairs and obtaining customer approval

Document repairs, services performed, and parts used

Implement environmental sustainability practices in automotive repair and maintenance, including waste management and resource optimisation, to minimise environmental impact

Follow industry standards and regulations for vehicle repair and safety

Maintain and calibrate tools and diagnostic equipment

Stay updated with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques

Remove the defective parts from the vehicle, which may involve dismantling several components. Carefully disassembling mechanical components to access the worn or defective parts without causing further damage to the surrounding areas

Repair parts that are salvageable using specialized tools and techniques

Reassembling mechanical components after repairing or replacing defective parts, followed by testing the reassembled components to ensure they function correctly and efficiently

Skills and qualifications required:

Have a minimum of one (1) year work experience as a motor mechanic

Certification or diploma in automotive technology, mechanical engineering, or a related field (essential)

Previous experience in automotive repair and maintenance (highly desirable)

A current and comprehensive knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostic tools, and repair techniques

Exceptional attention to detail and prioritization skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Work efficiently to meet service deadlines

Collaborate with other team members in a constructive manner

Mandarin-speaking is advantageous
