Kambu Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation for Health (Kambu Health) is seeking General Practitioners for our Ipswich and Laidley Clinics. Kambu Health clinic has been in operation for 48 plus years with strong community engagement and is well supported by Nursing and Aboriginal Health staff. We are seeking dedicated and experienced General Practitioners to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing high-quality care, possess excellent clinical skills, and be enthusiastic about working in a collaborative environment, and with First Nation peoples and communities.
715 Health Check is utilised at Kambu Health as a vital tool improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We prioritise early detection and management of health conditions, promoting a holistic approach to health, and contributing to closing the gap is our priority. All General Practitioners have the option to attend local schools to conduct 715 Health Check’s.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Registration as General Practitioner with AHPRA
Current Insurance Indemnity
Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments, plan, implement, and evaluate clinical care and primary health care strategies, including appropriate investigations, treatment and referral
Demonstrated ability to meet targets and performance outcomes.
Ability to support a continuous improvement model for achieving outcomes
Special Interests (skin, women’s health, men’s health and minor surgery) encouraged
One (1) Saturday per month mandatory
WHAT WE OFFER
Full-Time and Part-Time positions available
Insurance Indemnity expenses paid by Kambu Health Medical Indemnity Insurance Reimbursement
professional subscriptions up to $300 reimbursement annually (e.g. eTG, AMH)
six (6) weeks annual leave. Which includes a Christmas closure period annually
Opportunities for career progression
Opportunities to be involved in research projects, community events, patient groups, and program development to improve patient health
Opportunities to be involved in community outreach including discharge planning for prison health, School Health Check visits
Support/Collaboration with onsite Specialists including Paediatrics, Endocrinology, Cardiology and Psychiatry
Support/Collaboration with onsite Allied Health including Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Diabetes Educator, Podiatry, Dietician
Non-Taxable Fringe Benefits salary packaging options amounting to $15,886 per annum.
4 Hours administrative time per week for full time employees
20-minute standard appointment bookings
1 hour Health Check appointments including Support from Aboriginal Health Workers and Nursing Staff
Uniforms Provided
Paid Mandatory Reporting, Disclosure, CPR and First Aid, training.
CPD support through in house meetings, regular doctors and clinic meetings

MANDATORY
• Registration as General Practitioner with AHPRA and the Australian Medical Board (unrestricted)
• Ability to obtain an unrestricted Medicare provider number so that you may claim Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) rebates for your professional services at Ipswich and Laidley Clinic locations
• Current Insurance Indemnity
• Demonstrated ability to meet targets and performance outcomes.
• Ability to work sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and/or communities
