NORTH WEST PATHOLOGY

Status: Part Time (15 - 30 hrs per week negotiable) & Casual

Department: Specimen Collection

About The Role:

Part Time and Casual positions available

Collect pathology specimens from patients in our collection rooms, hospitals and as part of domiciliary services within the North West region

Store and process pathology specimens

Patient reception and response to client enquiries

Record patient information

Attend to the well-being of patients

Liaise with patients and referring doctors

Use of laboratory application software

* This is not a courier position

Selection Criteria:

Flexible availability to work Monday to Friday, weekends and public holidays

Able to commit to an intensive training program for up to 6 weeks full time in Burnie

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated commitment to service excellence

Exceptional skills in applying attention to detail

The ability to work co‑cooperatively and encouragingly within a team

Proven ability to act independently within established guidelines, demonstrating initiative and sound judgement

A current unrestricted Australian driver's licence

Provision of (or ability to obtain) a WWVP card and a satisfactory current police check

Previous phlebotomy experience will be considered an advantage
