The Kialla Group operates both a specialised Stock Feed Mill & Organic Flour Mill near Greenmount, about 20 minutes outside Toowoomba.

Our business handles grain from storage, grading, bulk milling, to packaging premixed product shelf ready for our retail customers.

Job Description

Aus Organic Feeds is seeking a Feed Mill Operator or Leading Hand to join our team. In this role, you will run a shift working with the latest technology, on our fully automated, computer controlled feed milling equipment. This state of the art mill was commissioned in 2018, and makes mash and pelletised bulk and bagged feeds.

As the potential Leading Hand you may have the opportunity to assist the Supervisor & Manager and be trained in all aspects of mill management including production scheduling, receival and dispatch of goods, client liaising and raw material procurement.

We also welcome those applicants with relevant experience in the same or similar industries, with pay scaling to reflect competence and initiative.

Our current full time production staff work a 76-hour, 10 or 8-day fortnight, with no weekend work. This role predominately works a day shift, with certain production periods requiring an afternoon shift.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate and maintain computerised feed milling machinery and equipment.

- Monitor and adjust the production process to ensure feed quality and consistency.

- Load incoming/outgoing trucks and complete associated paperwork.

- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with industry and safety standards.

- Collaborate with the production team to meet production targets and deadlines.

- Record production data and report any issues or deviations.

- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to enhance feed quality and efficiency.

- Certain production lines will include manual handling of packaged product, with bags up to a weight of 25kg being lifted and handled in order to fulfil our customers’ orders.

Qualifications

- Previous experience in feed milling or a related field is a plus.

- Knowledge of Bitwise Probatch control systems an advantage.

- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate and maintain machinery.

- Forklift and Boiler ticket would be an advantage.

- Must have own transport.

- Must be willing to work shift work.

- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality products.

- Basic computer skills for data entry and process monitoring.

- Be self organised and motivated.

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

- Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment
