About the Role:

Our client, a leading provider of specialty packaging solutions in Australasia, is seeking an experienced and reliable Maintenance Fitter to support the smooth operation of their production lines and site equipment. This hands-on role involves machine set-ups, maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring minimal disruption to production processes. You’ll also work with basic software, interpret technical documents, and contribute to a safe and efficient working environment.

Job Title: Line/ Maintenance Fitter

Shift Times: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Occasional Saturday work may be available (infrequent).

Pay rate: $36.15- $53.56 (depending on qualifications and experience)

Key Responsibilities:

Perform line and machine set-ups and routine maintenance

Diagnose and repair machinery faults

Conduct preventative maintenance on site and production equipment

Operate and maintain site services (e.g. compressors, chillers, boiler, trade waste water systems, WWTP)

Read and interpret technical product documents

Use basic software tools related to equipment and maintenance tasks

Maintain inventory and cleanliness of the maintenance workshop

Support daily site start-up, including starting services and production lines

Assist with root cause analysis, audits, and compliance requirements

Follow site safety, GMP, and maintenance procedures

Collaborate with other departments on projects and production needs

Skills & Attributes:

Strong mechanical and technical problem-solving skills

Ability to read technical documents and use basic software

Detail-oriented with a proactive, safety-first mindset

Able to work both independently and as part of a team

Good communication, planning, and organisational abilities

Motivated, punctual, and reliable

Qualifications (Preferred):

Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade)

Boiler ticket operator

Confined space permit holder

Chief Warden and Spill Response Team experience
