Job Title: Tax Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our team in a small accounting firm. As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing tax compliance, advisory and planning services for a diverse client portfolio. You will manage tax return preparation, liaise with the ATO, provide strategic tax advice and mentor junior staff. If you have strong technical knowledge of Australian tax law and regulations, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, we'd love to hear from you!

Salary Range: $110,000 - $140,000 per annum + Super + Bonuses

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation and review of tax returns, including individual, company, trust, partnership and SMSF returns
• Ensure compliance with Australian tax laws, including income tax, GST, CGT, FBT and payroll tax
• Provide tax planning and structuring advice to clients to optimize tax positions
• Conduct tax research and provide written and verbal advice on complex tax issues
• Liaise with the ATO and other regulatory bodies regarding tax matters, audits and disputes

Key Requirements:

• Strong technical knowledge of Australian tax law and regulations
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and team engagement
• Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines efficiently
• Experience in using accounting and tax software such as Xero, MYOB or similar platforms
• Leadership and mentoring capabilities to support junior team members
