With our workshop and head office located in Rowville, Victoria, we are looking to add another team member to our Engineering and Production team, to meet the increasing demand for our equipment offering.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced and professional Mechanical Technician. Our ideal candidate will primarily focus on driving our highly-specialised road survey equipment vehicles, along with operating and undertaking maintenance on these survey systems.
Main Duties of the Position:
Drive, operate and support high-tech data collection vehicles (prime mover and trailer combination), mounted with various sensors to collect road condition data.
Assist with the assembly, manufacture, calibration and installation of vehicle-based electronic road survey equipment, particularly focusing on the mechanical aspects of the product range.
Perform routine maintenance, inspections, repairs and machinery overhauls on various equipment.
Assist in vehicle maintenance and audit programs or ad-hoc maintenance / repair needs.
Assist in the development and testing of new products where required, providing feedback on suitability.
Review all new and updated Manuals, Procedures and Work Instructions relevant to position and provide feedback on improvements.
Required Skills
Heavy Rigid (HR) licence or above required
Strong driving history (driver history report will be requested)
Troubleshooting and problem-solving ability for mechanical and some electronical equipment
An understanding of NHVR requirements would be an advantage
Have completed Basic Fatigue Management (BFM) training or willing to complete training
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows platforms
High level communication & interpersonal skills with people at all levels
Ability to travel to remote locations, both domestically and internationally, as needed
Ability to manage own work and time to achieve key milestones work to tight timeframes
>5 years’ experience in a technical role.
Must hold a valid Australian driver’s licence
