Sydney Psychology Group is a team of passionate and friendly clinical staff. We focus on the treatment and management of mental health issues for people across the lifespan. We are looking for a receptionist to join our team for a temporary position. The role is for 3.5 weeks and will include some training prior to the role commencing. The role commences 26 May 2025 to 16 June 2025 and hours are 9am to 3pm. This person will generally be the first point of contact with our clients. The successful candidate must be pleasant, confident, friendly, fast worker, a problem solver, good communicator, and highly professional. Moreover, the successful candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision, be organised, take initiative, be able to prioritise tasks and have exceptional attention to detail. Psychology students are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications & experience
Front Desk and Reception experience.
Excellent interpersonal skills, pleasant and ability to work well under pressure.
Experience in Mental Health Care Plans, Medicare, and Private Health Funds is desirable.
Experience with practice management software, e.g. Zanda is desirable but not essential.
High level written and verbal communication skills.
Tasks & responsibilities
Manage overall operation of the psychology practice, which houses 10 clinicians.
Provides administration support to the director of the service.
Responsible to oversee the management of all referrals and communicate with referrers and Medicare as needed.
The role will be primarily to handle bookings, answer calls, return calls, liaise with other professionals, management of invoicing and payments and respond to enquiries quickly and efficiently.
Being familiar with Word, Excel and booking systems is essential. Opportunity to train in software. Must be a fast learner.
Composes and prepares confidential correspondence, reports, and other complex documents
Ability to communicate with high levels of professionalism, confidentiality and discretion
It will also include supporting the clinical staff with various administrative tasks, professional letters, make sure stationary is ordered, keep the practice clean, tidy and sanitised.
Assist in running events (in-house and external)
Assist in marketing and promotion of business
Reconciling payments to ensure the invoicing software reflects the correct transactions
Run reports on software to understand referral patterns
Assist with the creation of marketing content for the practice
Applicants must be available Monday to Friday, 9-3pm
