The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. A new role awaits

Are you looking to utilise your technical expertise in developing and managing WAN/LAN infrastructure and working for an Agency that creates lasting changes for Australians living with disability? We have the role just for you at the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).

The Agency ICT Servies Branch at the NDIA is seeking an APS6 Network Engineer who is passionate about technology. The Branch is responsible for supporting all ICT systems and infrastructure such as SAP CRM and Salesforce CRM. The Site Technology and Networks team within the Branch is responsible for delivering forward thinking technology services across the NDIA sites, such as Wired and Wireless Networks, Internet Connectivity, Video Conferencing, Networking, Printing and Digital Displays.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Developing and managing WAN/LAN infrastructure for an Enterprises using certified methods supported by recognised network accreditations.
  • Managing security protocols across physical, wireless and cloud networks as described in the Network Security Expert Certification Program.
  • Resolving end user and application issues related to network infrastructure using accredited infrastructure management certification methods.
  • Supporting change management activities.
  • Contributing towards network testing, patching and quality control.
  • Serving as a networking technology Subject Matter Expert (SME) by referencing knowledge available in globally recognised networking accreditations.

To be successful in the role, you will demonstrate proficient problem solving skills to resolve end-user and application issues related to network infrastructure. You will also have experience in managing security protocols across physical, wireless, and cloud networks, as outlined in the Network Security Expert Certification Program. You will possess a comprehensive understanding of network management and security and strive to ensure the highest standards of technical delivery.

While this role is ideally performed from VIC - Geelong, WA - Perth, NSW - Wollongong, QLD - Townsville and TAS - Hobart, remote working arrangements may be considered. We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with the possibility of extension up to 2 years may be offered.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
