About the Pharmacy Department

Our department provides a comprehensive pharmacy service to all patients of the hospital. A high degree of specialised service is provided in clinical areas, medicines information, antimicrobial stewardship, quality use of medicine, research and clinical trials. We are a passionate, supportive and driven team who works cohesively together to focus on quality patient centred care.

We seek a keen and enthusiatic pharmacu technician with initiative to join our professional and friendly team. The successful applicant will participate in a wide range of pharmacy services in all areas of the department.

About the role

As a Pharmacy Technician at the Women's you will provide comprensive support for the provision of pharmacy services within your remit.

A regular day will see you:

• Performing duties in the rostered areas in a safe and efficient manner, under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
• Support dispensing activities, including inpatients, outpatients and discharge medicines.
• Medicine distribution to ward areas and maintenance medication rooms to comply with legislative requirements.

About you

You will be someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who enjoys working as part of a team committed to excellence in patient care.

To be successful in this role you'll bring with you:

• Certificate III in Health (Hospital Pharmacy Technician) or equivalent.
• General Pharmacy knowledge and experience relevant to the position
• Attention to detail, well-developed time management and organisational skills
• A positive attitude and professional manner in keeping with our philosophy of a strong customer/patient focus
