Position Summary
The Business Support Officer provides effective administrative, project, and office services support to facilitate the smooth operation of the Prescribed Body Corporate (PBC) Unit and the delivery of its services. To be successful in this important role, you will:
Have strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a commitment to high personal work standards.
Ideally have experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples (preferred but not essential).
Have sound knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
Have the ability to travel to Cape York.
Hold a current open Australian driver's licence.
Key Responsibilities
Schedule, notify, and take minutes for director meetings, general meetings, native title holder meetings, and stakeholder meetings; monitor attendance.
Draft travel and accommodation budgets; coordinate travel itineraries, catering, travel allowances, and venue bookings.
Support directors in communication with members, native title holders, and stakeholders; assist with implementation and monitoring of agreed action items.
Act as the primary contact for the corporation by forwarding notices to directors.
Table membership applications for consideration at director meetings.
Maintain an organised electronic filing system in SharePoint.
Uphold a strict level of confidentiality.
Act with a high level of professionalism.
Provide administrative support to directors by preparing agendas and reports for meetings.
