IP Recruitment are looking for a Service Person or HD Fitter to join one of Australia's biggest waste management authorities, providing a comprehensive waste disposal service to local government authorities and residents in the Perth Metro Area.

The Role, Fitter/Service Person is an integral member of the operations team and contributes to the team objectives. This position assists the Workshop Supervisor carry out proactive servicing and maintenance of all Council's plant and equipment in accordance with current best practice standards and statutory requirements.

Qualifications

• Trade Certificate in Heavy Duty Mechanics or experience servicing mobile plant and equipment

Essential requirements:

• Extensive heavy duty plant experience
• Experience maintaining light vehicles
• Ability to repair and maintain a wide range of mobile and stationary equipment
• Ability to operate required tools in a safe and responsible manner
• Demonstrated ability to understand and apply technical information, policies, and procedures of legislative requirements.
• Ability to prioritise workloads within tight timelines.
• Developed communications and customer service skills
• Sound knowledge of procedures for the repair and maintenance of wide range of mobile and stationary equipment
• Sound knowledge of mobile and stationary preventative and predictive maintenance schedules and programs
• Sound knowledge of the practical application of Work Health & Safety in a mechanical work environment.
• Working knowledge of maintenance management software relevant to workshop application.

To be considered for this position applicants will need to meet the following criteria:

• General maintenance understanding of diaphragm pumps/setups
• HR Licence - Preferred
• Forklift Licence
• Willing to provide a National Police Clearance
• Be able to pass a pre-employment Medical and Drug and Alcohol screening
