Senior Communications Officer
Client: NSW Early Childhood Education and Care Regulatory Authority (ECECRA) – “Standing Order 52” Team
Position ID: REQ (8594)
Hybrid: Parramatta and Work From Home; currently 1-2 days in the office, days vary and open to change (depending on department policy).
Paying a maximum of $554 to $610 per day, plus super (upto $680.15 per day, plus GST if an ABN).
Start ASAP – 2 weeks’ notice maximum
NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) for paid employment is essential – can apply after receiving an offer, but the process can take 2 days to 2 months+, so if you apply in advance, it is advantageous (only costs $105)
Initially 6 months from start; it will extend.
The department is the Regulatory Authority (NSW Regulatory Authority) for the ECEC sector in NSW. It regulates, monitors and supports more than 6,000 early childhood education and outside school hours care services across NSW (ECEC services). They work to drive quality outcomes for children and communities through early childhood education, to ensure all children get the best start in life. The health, safety and wellbeing of children is the highest priority for the department.
They are seeking three new contractors, Senior Communications Officer, Senior Risk Analyst and Senior Data Officer. The Regulatory Authority has existing Comms, Regulatory Risk and Data teams, and these roles will act as a conduit between the Standing Order 52 Team and those teams, as well as being embedded into those teams.
Required skills & experience:
5 years+ as a Communications Officer; with demonstrated experience in Communications strategy and planning
Previous experience drafting media enquiries and ministerial enquiry responses
Previous experience preparing high quality and factual messages, correspondence, briefs, reports and presentations to facilitate achievement of communications objectives.
Previous experience developing and maintaining relevant websites, general information and resources, in collaboration with program team members.
Previous analytics experience to support the development of effective communications and better use of existing communication channels.
An understanding of NSW Regulation procedure and policy
Strong Stakeholder Management - Executive/Ministers Level
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Flexible and agile – reactive
Previous Public Sector experience is advantageous; previous NSW Regulatory and Governance experience is highly advantageous.
Relevant degree and industry accreditations and certifications will be expected.
