VHIA advises on a wide variety of matters relating to workplace and industrial relations and provides services ranging from general advice through more specialist or technical consulting as well as advocacy in tribunals and courts.

The Role:
VHIA is seeking a Senior Workplace Relations Consultant on a full-time, ongoing basis.
The role involves working cooperatively with key internal and external stakeholders to coordinate/lead sector-wide enterprise bargaining negotiations, industrial and employment disputes and to provide complex industrial relations advice in response to member enquiries.
VHIA currently offers a hybrid working arrangement where two days a week are in our modern offices in Footscray, with three days a week from home.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinating/leading key, sector-wide enterprise bargaining negotiations and employment disputes;
• Providing expert industrial relations and employment advice on complex matters;
• Ensuring that members receive accurate and timely advice in relation to changes in legislation and regulations;
• Providing supervision, guidance and mentoring to more junior Workplace Relations Team members.
To be successful in this position, you will need to meet the following selection criteria:
You will possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Law, Human Resources or Business and no less than five (5) years’ experience in Workplace Relations Consultant (or similar) roles, be passionate about public and community health and dedicated to strong member service.
You must be able to demonstrate well-developed written and oral communication skills; effective problem solving and analytical skills; a proven ability to develop strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work in a small team and a strong aptitude in the use of the Microsoft Office 365 suite.
You will be required to demonstrate extensive knowledge of relevant employment legislation, highly developed negotiation skills and proven influencing and collaboration skills, particularly with Unions and other peak bodies
