We are seeking to find an experienced aged care kitchen assistant working at our beautiful Garden Suburb facility for up to 60 hours per fortnight. Applicants must be able to also work weekends & have minimum 12 months aged care experience.

About our facility

Uniting Garden Suburb has 3 separate households, each with between 25–30 residents. This includes a secure household for people living with dementia or mental health illness. Your Uniting Homemaker ensures that the community is thriving and doing things that are meaningful and enjoyable.

Duties

  • Provide quality, timely and effective hotel service such as catering
  • Completes documentation in the Food Safety Program and the information management system and coaches Food Services Team to undertake same
  • Work for the continuous improvement of our service to ensure it’s the best it can be, in line with Aged Care Accreditation Standards
  • Queries and complaints from our clients and their families, as well as your co-workers and other service providers, that come your way, will be handled with a confidential and timely approach, in collaboration with your supervisor
  • While providing effective and timely hotel services, you’ll treat our clients with respect and recognize their abilities, preferences and decision-making capacity.

What We’re Looking For

  • Ideally, you have a Certificate II in Hospitality or an equivalent qualification and/or
  • Cert III in Hospitality – Commercial Cookery or similar or demonstrated competence in the provision of catering services.
  • Must have min year experience in similar roles (catering, kitchenhand) within aged care.
  • You’re empathetic, adaptable, resourceful, and align with Uniting’s core values of compassion, respect, boldness, and creativity.
