We're recruiting for multiple roles across a range of teams, to join the Intelligence Division. As the APS6 Senior Analyst, Intelligence at AUSTRAC, you'll play a vital role in Australia's anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing (AML/CTF) regulator. We're seeking talented analysts who specialise in applying analytical tradecraft and research acumen to generate high-impact assessments and briefings on matter of strategic and operational significance to Australia's financial crime environment. You'll be working closely with key partners in law enforcement and the National Intelligence Community Agencies, shaping actionable intelligence strategies, and engaging in intelligence diplomacy with foreign counterparts. About the team
You'll be joining high-performing teams where your insights will shape the strategic direction of the Intelligence Division. You'll work side by side with passionate, like-minded colleagues who share your drive in safeguarding Australia from financial crime. We have several key roles available, across the following three areas:
Risk Assessments
Our goal is to deepen our understanding of the drivers shaping the financial crime environment and the impacts on Australia’s money laundering and terrorism financing (ML/TF) regime. Step into a pivotal role as Senior Analyst in Risk Assessments, where you'll steer the development of risk assessments focused on ML/TF. You'll be providing critical insights to AUSTRAC, its partners and the industry about the risks associated with certain financial services sectors or financial products.
Trends & Insights
We explore the financial crime environment, exploit multi-source data and expose trends, patterns and anomalous activity to produce intelligence insights and targeting opportunities for stakeholders. Join as a Senior Analyst in Trends & Insights, where you'll be at the forefront of uncovering strategic insights into money laundering methods and channels. You'll analyse trends, produce detailed intelligence reports, and utilise advanced data interrogation tools to inform AUSTRAC's strategies and actions.
Operational & Tactical
We proactively engage with partners to develop, enhance and drive collaborative action to effectively target high risk criminal activity and identify emerging threats to our financial system. As a Senior Analyst in Operational & Tactical intelligence, you'll work closely with law enforcement and industry partners to produce actionable intelligence that directly supports investigations and joint agency taskforces. Your efforts will contribute to disrupting financial and other serious crimes, making a real difference in national security.

Key Duties
The Senior Analyst, Intelligence roles, encompass a range of key duties, including:
- Collect, extract, collate and analyse data to support operational and strategic outcomes.
- Lead the creation, production and coordination of high-quality intelligence assessments for a range of stakeholders.
- Innovate and enhance analysis methods and work processes.
- Represent AUSTRAC at inter-agency meetings and national and international forums.
- Play an active role in shaping the strategic direction of the Intelligence Division.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with colleagues, partner agencies, and stakeholders.
- Mentor and coach team members.
- Provide input to multi-agency task forces and project work.
Affirmative Measures
This vacancy is being advertised concurrently under a general round, an affirmative measures disability round and an affirmative measures indigenous round.

We offer competitive remuneration and great conditions, including:
- Annual leave of 4 weeks (20 days) per year + additional paid Christmas close down.
