An opportunity exists for an individual with excellent organisational, leadership and workforce engagement skills, and experience in health and safety regulatory environments to fill the role of Executive Director of NT WorkSafe.

The successful applicant will lead NT WorkSafe to secure the health and safety of workers and workplaces, and influence return to work outcomes for injured workers. NT WorkSafe is a division of the Attorney-General’s Department tasked with the management of health and safety laws and systems across the Northern Territory and is responsible for assisting businesses and workers to understand their obligations under work, health and safety, dangerous goods, electrical safety, rehabilitation and workers compensation laws in the Northern Territory.

As Executive Directors, you will exercise the powers and functions of an independent regulator, report to the CEO of the Department, and be appointed to perform statutory roles under the Work Health and Safety (National Uniform Legislation) Act 2011, the Return to Work Act 1986, the Transport of Dangerous goods by Road and Rail (National Uniform Legislation) Act 2010, the Electricity Reform Act 2000, and the Dangerous Goods Act 1998 and associated regulations.

Strong leadership and strategic direction is essential to this role, as is the ability to lead a multi-disciplined work team, and the capacity to implement reform to meet emerging demands.
