About the Role:

As a Cook in our aged care facility, you’ll be responsible for preparing meals that meet the unique dietary needs of our residents, including those with specific dietary restrictions. You will work closely with our care team to create meals that are both appetizing and aligned with individual care plans. Your role will also involve ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards, inventory management, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment.

This role may require 28- 30 hours of cooking with at least one weekend shift for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook nutritious meals that meet residents' dietary needs and preferences.

Ensure compliance with IDDSI guidelines and residents' care plans.

Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in the kitchen.

Work collaboratively with the kitchen and care team.

Manage food inventory and minimize waste.

What We’re Looking For:

Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.

Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally in aged care industry or in a comparable industry.

Strong leadership and organisational skills

Demonstrate knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP

Demonstrate knowledge of IDDSI standards

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
