About the Role
Hummingbird House is Queensland’s only children’s hospice, and one of only three children’s hospices in Australia. We provide specialised paediatric palliative care services to babies, children and young people with a life-limiting condition, helping them make every moment precious when life is short.
Since 2016, Hummingbird House has welcomed hundreds of families from right across Queensland into our warm embrace. Our vision is to be here for every eligible family that needs us, and ensure they are connected to a community that knows how to care for them; in life, death and bereavement.
Our Physiotherapist role offers hands-on experience, professional development, and structured training through a supported induction process. You’ll be guided by an onsite supervisor who is committed to your growth and a compassionate management team that prioritizes high-quality care for our children. This includes the delivery of onsite hydrotherapy services at our on site pool .
Please note this role is a Part Time role offering 15 hours per week!
Key Role Accountabilities:
As a Physiotherapist, you will provide customer- focused services including:
Provide high level physiotherapy services to customers presenting with a wide range of disability and functional needs
Deliver individual and group services, balancing direct treatment with supervised therapy to enhance the customer experience
Work across services and sites within WMQ dependent upon service requirements.
Complete accurate assessment and review of physical needs of customers, and to provide a consultancy service for a range of activities to a wide range of customers.
Provide instruction, supervision and education to customers, support workers and other carers as required.
Identify opportunities to provide other cross disciplinary services which may be of benefit to the customer.
Ensure that the customer is an active participant in the development and review of treatment goals and planning.
Ensure that positive and professional relationships and rapport are developed and maintained with customers.

Experience in delivering high quality hydrotherapy services
Current registration with APHRA
Current Driver’s Licence
Demonstrated ability to effectively work with staff, clients, and families
Exceptional communication skills and a focus on patient-centred care
