The Role
We are seeking a Principal Data Engineer to lead the data engineering function within the Digital & Technology team. You’ll be responsible for the delivery, quality, and evolution of our enterprise-wide data solutions — from real-time dashboards and analytics to AI-ready platforms and modern data architecture.
This is a senior technical role offering both strategic influence and hands-on technical execution, working across projects, business units, and with key stakeholders in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Need to Succeed
✔️ 10+ years’ experience in data engineering and analytics
✔️ Proven experience leading BI/data professionals
✔️ Expertise in tools like Databricks, Power BI, Tableau, Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, SQL, and DAX
✔️ Hands-on skills in ETL, real-time data integration, and data modelling
✔️ Strong understanding of data architecture, governance, and warehouse methodologies (e.g., Kimball, Data Vault, Medallion)
✔️ Ability to engage with the business and translate data needs into actionable solutions
✔️ Experience with Agile, DevOps, and cloud platforms (Azure)

Highly desirable:
🎓 Database or Databricks certifications
💡 Energy industry experience
🧠 Knowledge of AI/ML and modern data platform integration
