A leading environmental management and consultancy company is seeking an experienced Azure Data Engineer to design, implement, and optimise cloud-based data solutions.

This role involves working with Azure data services, ETL processes, and data modelling to support business intelligence and analytics initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Azure Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks, and SQL to ensure secure, scalable, and high-performance data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain Azure-based data solutions, including Azure Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, and Databricks.
• Build and manage ETL/ELT pipelines to integrate and transform data from multiple sources.
• Develop data models, warehouses, and lakes to support reporting and analytics needs.
• Optimise database performance and ensure data quality, governance, and security.
• Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical data solutions.
• Implement Azure Data Lake and storage solutions for structured and unstructured data.
• Develop and maintain Power BI or other data visualisation tools for reporting.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure reliability and efficiency.
• Stay up to date with Azure technologies, best practices, and data engineering trends.
• Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, and governance standards.

Key Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, specialising in Azure cloud solutions.
• Strong proficiency in Azure Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, Databricks, and Data Lake.
• Experience in building, optimising, and troubleshooting ETL/ELT data pipelines.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL, data modelling, and database optimisation.
• Familiarity with Python, PySpark, or Scala for data processing.
• Experience in Power BI, or other data visualisation tools, is highly regarded.
• Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in an Agile environment.
• Strong communication skills to liaise with business and technical stakeholders.
• Relevant Azure certifications (e.g., DP-203: Azure Data Engineer Associate) are a plus.

Contract Rate: $700-$800 per Day (incl. super)
