Roads 2000 is a well-established Asphalt company in Western Australia, operating as part of the Politis Group specialising in asphalt production, placement and project management, providing a professional service to government, commercial and residential clients.

Roads 2000 operates from a centrally located office in Osborne Park with modern asphalt production batch plants in Wangara and Neerabup.

About the Position

Currently seeking an experienced Plant Mechanic, to work on our Asphalt Production plants and Mobile machinery. This is a full time role, which will be varied and challenging. We are seeking an experienced candidate, preferably with boiler maker experience within the construction industry. Experience working on trucks and light vehicles would be advantageous.

The position will be based at our Wangara Plant an will have you working closely with our Asset Manager. As a key role within Roads 2000, it is critical that the successful candidate is able to demonstrate they possess and actively employ the following requirements.

Role Description

Reporting to the Asset Manager, the role includes but is not limited to:

Service and Repair Fixed Plant

Service and Repair Mobile plant.

Fault finding

Machine readiness for site.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Communicate with operators regarding issues with machinery

Troubleshoot breakdowns

Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities

Intermediate welding tasks

Check and sign off on Apprentice’s works

Complete complex automotive/plant repairs

Disassemble engines and hydraulics

Maintain Works Program

Assist Asset Manager in Supplier Invoicing and Internal Invoicing

Experience required

Minimum 3 years Experience in a similar role

Boiler Maker experience preferable

A positive attitude and commitment towards safety

Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised

Knowledge of electrical components

Basic knowledge of Asset Management System

Qualifications

Relevant Trade Certificate

HR/MR License

Forklift ticket

Working at Heights ticket

Confined Space Ticket

White Card

Soft Skills

Willingness to Learn

Fit for labour

Ability to work independently and as part of the team.

Excellent communication
