About the role

Bluey's Mechanical Service' is seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanic to join our team in our Deception Bay, QLD location. This full-time role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing and maintaining a wide range of vehicles to the highest standard. What you'll be doing

Conducting inspections and diagnostics to identify faults and required repairs

Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicle makes and models

Test driving vehicles to ensure all repairs have been completed to a high standard

Communicating with customers to discuss repair recommendations and costs

Maintaining detailed records of all work completed

Adhering to all relevant safety procedures and policies

Assisting with workshop organization and stock management as required

Build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements

Inspect machines, engines, transmissions etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues

Use of computers for parts & customer information & general admin

Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner

Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users

Undertake other duties as assigned (e.g. repair of hydraulic systems, painting vehicles etc.)

Keep logs of work and report on issues

What we're looking for

Relevant trade qualifications in automotive mechanics

Several years' experience as a mechanic, preferably in an automotive workshop environment

Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills to identify and repair faults efficiently

Excellent communication skills to liaise with customers and colleagues (including via phone)

A keen eye for detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Current driver's license and your own reliable transportation
