About the role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to join our kitchen team at The Court & Oval in Ballarat East, Victoria. As Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all budgeting and Costings, culinary operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, and leading a team of passionate chefs. This is a full-time role, offering the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment within the hospitality industry.

What you'll be doing

Developing and refining innovative menus that showcase your culinary expertise and creativity

Managing kitchen operations, including staff scheduling, inventory control, and budget planning

Ensuring strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations

Providing mentorship and training to the kitchen team to drive continuous improvement

Collaborating with the front-of-house team to ensure exceptional customer service and dining experiences

Monitoring and maintaining the quality and presentation of all dishes

Staying up-to-date with industry trends and implementing new techniques and recipes

What we're looking for

Minimum 4 years of experience as a Head Chef or in a senior role

Able to physical show documentation of costing, ordering schedules, pervious prep list schedules ect.

Strong command of a wide range of cooking techniques and cuisines

Excellent time management and organizational skills to handle the demands of a busy kitchen

Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment

Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes

Passion for using fresh, locally sourced ingredients and creating seasonal, innovative menus

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with the front-of-house team

A recognised qualification in Hospitality or Culinary Arts (preferred)
