In the Policy and Planning Division of the Bushfire and Forest Services Group, we support environments and communities to be resilient and thrive, through advancing forest, fire and emergency management policy and planning.
The Policy Officer will contribute to the development a contemporary policy framework for the management and use of forests across the state. The role will contribute to strategic policy for forest management, balancing multiple forest values and uses. The role will support providing clear environmental policy, stakeholder engagement and advice across government and within DEECA. It will support extensive stakeholder engagement, project management and policy development to provide advice to the government about the future use and management of Victoria's state forests.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- An appropriate tertiary qualification(s) in public policy, law, natural resource or environmental management or similar is desirable.
There are two fixed term positions available until 30 June 2026. The work location for these positions is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
