Our client is a well-known Insurance underwriter who offers wide range of products to their consumer and wholesale customers. They are an established brand who have been in the Australian market for decades and plan to be for years to come through responsible and strategic financial leadership.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of FP&A, you will key member of a team responsible for ensuring the organization achieves its financial targets. Your responsibilities will include the following:

• Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, providing forward-looking financial insights
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis processes
• Translate complex financial data into clear commercial narratives
• Partner on pricing, product development, and operational initiatives
• Manage and develop two high-performing direct reports
• Support strategic planning and board-level reporting
• Drive underwriting profitability analysis by product line, segment, and channel
• Lead monthly loss ratio and claims trend reviews, working closely with actuarial and pricing teams
• Support reinsurance and capital planning initiatives through robust financial modelling

The Ideal Candidate

• 5 + years of commercial experience, ideally within the insurance industry
• Prior experience in an FP&A, business partner or commercial finance position
• CA/CPA qualification is preffered
• Previous mentorship/leadership exposure desirable
• A + communication skills to effectively partner with a variety of stakeholders from different departments
• Are comfortable with ambiguous scenarios and can determine a way forward with regard to what’s important (and what’s not)
• Insurance or financial services experience highly regarded
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to influence non-finance stakeholders
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
