About the Role
The Senior Lecturer in Social Work Practice Innovation will take a leading role in advancing innovative approaches within social work practice. Alongside contributing to high-quality research, the successful candidate will provide leadership in the design and delivery of academic content. This will include the development of teaching materials, delivering lectures and tutorials, and implementing creative and effective teaching and learning strategies.

The Senior Lecturer's responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Undertaking a lead role in the planning, delivery and evaluation of innovative and dynamic teaching and learning experiences within Social Work, with a primary focus on Social Work Practice Innovation ensuring the preparation of graduates for professional practice.
  • Making a significant contribution to ethical, high-quality and innovative research ideally with a focus on the development of workforce capabilities, through activities such as scholarship, quality publication, external grant acquisition, mentoring and developing early career researchers and presentation that aligns with the College areas of research strength and focus.
  • In a leadership capacity, assisting in College internal and external quality assurance and accreditation processes.
  • Building and maintaining strategic relationships and networks with a range of stakeholders including industry and professional associations and organisations, with an increasing national and/or international focus.
  • Contributing at a leadership level to the integration and management of aspects of the academic and administrative life of the College.

About You
The successful candidate will have a PhD (or equivalent qualification) in a disciplinary field aligned with social work, eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers as well as five years' post-qualifying practice experience. They should also demonstrate the following:

  • Significant track record and demonstrated evidence of successful, contemporary, and innovative teaching experience (including on the technological impact on the future of social work practice and in working with vulnerable populations at tertiary level)
  • Demonstrated evidence of a strong research track record (for career stage) in an area related to technological impact on human services and/or social work practice, including evidence of sustained high‐quality publications and attraction of external competitive grants.
  • Demonstrated experience providing leadership in the area of curriculum reviews and internal and external accreditation activities.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, supervising and mentoring academic staff.
  • Demonstrated experience and successful track record in supervision of honours and higher degree students to successful completion.
